Job Description
Interim Educational Psychologist
C 6 Months+
We are looking for Interim Educational Psychologists for one of our local authority clients. They need you to;
- Provide statutory educational psychology services to the county.
- Apply psychology to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEN and additional educational needs.
- Using family and child centred approaches to working in partnership with parents and children with SEN/AEN, embracing the principles of Early Support and person centred planning.
- Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities for children and young people aged 0 – 25 with SEN/AEN and adherence to the EPS, SEN and inclusion strategies, policies, procedures.
- Working collaboratively with schools, settings, other agencies and services, promoting partnership working, early intervention and integrated local solutions.
- Independently maintain up to date knowledge and skills in assessment, monitoring and tracking progress of children and young people with SEN/LDD 0 – 25 years of age, including knowledge of evidence informed best practice.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that Safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to and concerns are raised in accordance with these policies.
- Contribute to preparation for adulthood where appropriate within statutory work
You will need to have;
- An honours degree in Psychology.
- Registration as an EP with the Health Professions Council, or registration due when Doctorate completed.
Alternatively, you might have a Post graduate qualification in Educational Psychology, have qualified teacher status and a minimum of two years successful teaching experience or a Doctorate in Educational Psychology.
You will also need to have knowledge of all aspects of Educational Psychology and its application within the LA and a good understanding of legislation, guidance and policy relating to SEN/AEN and to the wider inclusion agenda.
