Interim Engineering Lead

We are working with a fast growing University spin out developing energy storage at 30-40% lower cost than lithium-ion batteries. With solid funding that allowed the growth of the team and formation of a formidable Board and leadership team, they are in the process of closing a further significant investment to build a full scale, full performance prototype.
We require an Engineering lead to;
- Design and development of compressor/expander technology, including their proprietary engine and valve control technology and actuators.
- Compressor/expander performance and inputs to the performance, safety, certification, operating documentation and in service support processes required to approve the system for commercial sale and use.
- Specification and sourcing of all compressor/expander equipment (e.g. engines, cylinder and piston extensions, heads, actuators, motor/generators, couplings, rafts, control systems and software).
- Specification and sourcing of all development, assembly and production equipment and tooling required to develop and mature the technology and deliver to time, cost and quality.
- Planning and managing the functional, operational and reliability testing of the system as a whole when assembled and for the compressor expander, electrical and actuator sub-systems as required by the programme. This must be done to the highest occupational health and safety standards.
A graduate, you will have strong team building and leadership skills. Project, risk, cost, forecasting and budget management skills coupled with a good understanding of best practice and building, managing and developing teams including use of external advisors and resources when required.
