Quantity Surveyor - Scotland
An exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join one of the leading independent engineering and services businesses in the UK. With a turnover of £500m and 3000 employees, they have a strong pipeline and now need to appoint a QS.
Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you will support the business unit by managing the contractual and financial elements of projects undertaken.
This includes large electrical and civil frameworks, and major standalone projects. In addition, the role will include all other activities to enable successful P&L, cash flow and working capital management.
You will need experience of
NEC management of multiple contracts, measurement and valuations of works for applications, variations and final accounts with both clients and suppliers, identification & notification of early warnings and compensation events, ensure all contracts, up and down supply chain, are fit for purpose, orovide cash flow forecasts, CVR creation and management.
Manage invoicing and debts you will need to be an effective communicatior with all stakeholders.
You will need to have previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor or similar role - Working knowledge in Microsoft packages such as word, excel and outlook with a well-developed understanding of various forms of contract, in particular NEC3/4, with the ability to apply these skills to live projects
With a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or other related discipline (can be substituted by a relevant HNC and suitable experience) - Good MS Excel skills including the use of look ups and pivot tables and experience with Civil Engineering and Construction projects.
