Role details
This will be an interim role for 12 months specifically supporting the Director of Property, Investment and Facilities Management. The role requires an experienced and confident HRBP.
Our client needs to start to develop a workforce plan for the area - the roles within this directorate include Architects, structural engineers to facilities staff so it is a broad and interesting role.
Key Tasks
- Ensure the employment systems are modern, responsive, planned and coherent and align with, support and inform its strategic objectives, aims and requirements.
- Be alert to national and local influences, forecast the impact of internal and external change, and plan the response in a coordinated and timely way.
- Ensure modern, robust, efficient and effective employment policies, procedures and practices are in place.
- Develop and maintain remuneration policies and systems, which meet requirements, including pension matters.
- Ensure stable and constructive employment relations and effective negotiations, consultations and communications with staff groups and trade unions, including coordinating the Employees’ Joint Consultative Committee and acting as escalation point for any complex or contentious issues including authorising dismissals and redundancies.
- Provide expert and current knowledge of best practice in human resources management.
- Advise members, senior management and colleagues on human resources management, including providing guidance and professional development.
Experience and skills required
- MCIPD or equivalent with commitment to continuous professional development.
- Experience of managing an effective HR service in a large and complex organisation.
- Excellent working knowledge of employment legislation and trends, to include evidence of its interpretation and application, as well interpretation and anticipated application of new legislation.
- Ability to quickly understand strategic priorities and requirements and translate into HR requirements/service plans.
