Role
We have a requirement for an Interim Project Lead to be responsible for the daily management and operation of an allocated area of work and to provide guidance, advice and support, as the professional specialist lead, to ensure a high quality service that delivers value for money for its customers in line with legislative requirements and policies and practices.
The post holder will play a key role in leading and driving Projects and Programmes discipline, including development and improvement, business efficiency and cultural change. Work will cross funding various streams including Housing Infrastructure Fund, Housing and Growth Deal, City Deal, LGF, Internal funding sources and others.
Key responsibilities

Lead, coach, support, motivate and monitor employees in order to develop and improve their performance, to ensure customer needs are met and sound technical and project management techniques and disciplines are embedded within the team.

Forecast and manage the budget for own area of responsibility to ensure budgets are achieved whilst maintaining the balance between the delivery time and outcome/objectives

Build and manage effective partnership relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders and contractors to achieve shared outcomes so that best practice and optimal service delivery can be achieved in a co-ordinated cost effective manner, in line with policies and procedures.

Lead the preparation and coordination of reports, documents and information, undertaking quality control to enable effective governance of decision making.
Requirements

Significant experience of working at a senior level on a high-profile projects and programme management related to Transport and Highways or other physical Infrastructure from inception to completion

Recognised relevant professional qualification and/or membership of professional body.e.g. Chartered Engineer, PMP

Relevant degree and/or significant experience within the areas managed such as Programme Management, Civil Engineering and Construction

Management qualification and/or experience of managing at the required level in a similar discipline/organisation

Experience of working on the regional and/or national stage, with demonstrable experience in liaising with Government and partner agencies such as the LEP, Homes England and DfT.
