Job Description
Interim Communication Specialist
We are looking for an experienced communication consultant for a short term piece of work to support our Local Authority client with their drive to improve services for families of children with SEND. You will need to have an understanding of the SEND sector and be empathetic with a deep understanding of parents’ views and wishes. The initial work is anticipated to take place over three months and will include analysis of existing communication processes and issues, alongside consultation with users of the service to gain their views and experience.
The key objectives of this work are to:
• Improve customer satisfaction (through improved customer experiences)
• Improve staff timeliness towards responding to customers
• Identify opportunities for redesign of operational approaches –
• Improve front facing processes that customers experience by reducing time taken and information asked for
• Provide recognition for internal and external groups / teams / individuals on delivering customer excellence
The work package will support the programme approach to:
• Evaluate the current position
• Identify what is working well and what support systems are in place
• Identify and quantify key issues
• Identify what “good” looks like
• Taking into account feedback from parents and families, discussions with other Local Authorities and any local/national standards
• Identify, define and prioritise actions for improvement
• Including identifying measures with targets to evidence improvement
