Job Description
We are working with a fast-growing technology company developing new energy storage solutions. Now on a growth trajectory, we require an Interim Engineering Manager to take responsibility for the design and development of their compressor/expander technology, including their proprietary engine and valve control technology and actuators.
You will be leading a team that is responsible for:
• Compressor/expander performance and inputs to the performance, safety, certification, operating documentation and in service support processes required to approve the system for commercial sale and use.
• Specification and sourcing of all compressor/expander equipment (e.g. engines, cylinder and piston extensions, heads, actuators, drivers and power supplies).
• Specification and sourcing of all development, assembly and production equipment and tooling required to develop and mature the technology and deliver pilot and production systems to time, cost and quality.
• Budget, program and risk management inputs
You will need to have a first degree in a mechanical and/or electrical engineering discipline, with a sound understanding of Mechanical Engineering / Physics first principles.
• Demonstrable leadership and technical management skills to support, coach and drive highly skilled mechanical engineering teams.
• Historic technical background in engine systems / electronics or actuators
• A sound grasp of product development cycle and expertise in system and component specification, design, development and sign-off.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels.
• Demonstratable knowledge of mechanical engineering GD&T and manufacturing processes.
